The drivers of two vehicles that crashed head-on overnight on the Dallas North Tollway were drunk, authorities said.
The incident happened shortly after midnight in the southbound lanes of the tollway, just south of the Bordeaux Avenue bridge in the Highland Park neighborhood.
DPS troopers said surveillance video corroborated witness statements that a silver Honda Accord entered the tollway from the Wycliff exit and traveled north in the southbound lanes before it collided with a black Nissan Rogue sport utility vehicle.
The wrong-way driver, described as being a man in his 20s, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The other driver, a woman around 30 years old, was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
Both drivers were intoxicated and will be charged, police said.
