Police have made an arrest in the case involving an Arlington nursing home and a hidden camera.
Maria Acosta, 43, was arrested at her home on Friday morning. She is charged with assault against an elderly person.
The arrest follows claims of abuse at the Heritage Oaks Nursing Home.
FOX 4 first reported about 83-year-old Mynez Carter on Tuesday. Her family put a hidden camera in her room because they found unexplained bruises and noticed her acting fearful, dodging away from anyone who tried to embrace her.
They were outraged after seeing the video, which they said showed rough treatment. In one instance a worker putting a pillow under Carter's head can be seen pulling her hair and pushing her head. In another instance a worker pinches her leg.
Also, a management change has taken place over the last couple of days. The center is now under the direction of an acting administrator, but there was no word on if the move was disciplinary in nature.
Daughter Ruth Carter said she is relieved to hear of the arrest.
Her mother is still at the nursing home because of the level of care she requires, but family members have been monitoring her closely, she said.
