Twisted Grip dance studio websiteHealthy exercise or inappropriate message? A Canadian dance studio owner says registering your kids for her pole dancing class is just like having them take hip hop or jazz.
The "Little Spinners" class already has four children registered, including a boy, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Company.
Instructor Kristy Craig says there's nothing sexual about the class, but the front page of the studio's website shows sexy, sparkly high-heeled shoes for sale for performers.
"It's pure fitness and strength and fun," Craig told the CBC. "I mean kids love climbing trees. They will climb anything."
Craig said the youngsters registered for the class all have moms or dads also taking classes at her studio.
Pole dancing has caught on in recent years as an international fitness pastime and competitive sport.
Craig told the CBC that children who take her class are not likely to become strippers, or for that matter, firemen.
