A Fort Worth police officer's squad car flipped.
A Fort Worth police officer is recovering after his squad car flipped overnight on the way to a call.
The officer, who has not been identified, was alone in the car traveling north on the frontage road of SE Loop 820 near Lancaster.
He was on his way to an apartment complex where someone was reportedly trying to break into someone's home around midnight.
Unfortunately, the squad car's tire clipped the curb of the frontage road, causing the car to vault into the median and roll onto its roof.
The officer was scratched and bruised and taken to the hospital for observation. He's expected to be back at home soon.
This midnight crash was just the first rollover in Fort Worth.
About an hour later, emergency responders were dispatched to Hemphill Street and W. Vickery Boulevard near downtown.
A man had flipped missed the T-intersection and clipped the light, sending his Nissan sports car rolling over several times.
Firefighters had to cut the man, who is in his 20s, out of the vehicle and rush him to the hospital.
The driver, who was the only person in the car, is in grave condition.
