Posted: Updated:
HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -

If you head down to the Boating and Outdoor Festival in Harrison Township this weekend you'll see what could be the next big thing to hit local lakes. It's called flyboarding and FOX 2 received a full demonstration Friday morning.

Flyboarder Brandon Robinson put on a show as the apparatus from Zapata Racing used water jets to propel him both under water and into the air above Lake St. Clair. (Click the video player to watch)

Festival guests can see performances for themselves on Friday (1, 2, 4 and 6 p.m), Saturday (1 3, 5 and 7 p.m.) and Sunday (12, 2, and 4 p.m.).

Discount tickets are available at BoatingandOutdoorFest.com. Regular admission is $9 for adults, children 12 and under free with an adult. Parking is $5 at the Lake St. Clair Metropark or free to those with a park sticker. General park information can be found at www.metroparks.com or by calling 1-800-47-PARKS.

Parents and teachers know school supplies don't come cheap. Many teachers even buy school supplies out-of-pocket. But now, a new Detroit company is doing more than selling school supplies - they're also giving back.
