HOUSTON (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a then-11-year-old Texas girl two years ago has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Jared McPherson didn't say anything before he was sentenced Friday in a Liberty courtroom. He had been free on bond and was taken into custody.
McPherson's pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child and the sentence was part of his deal.
McPherson was among 20 males charged in a series of sexual assaults against the girl over a matter of months. All six juveniles and 6 of the 14 adults charged, including McPherson, have accepted plea deals. Three other adults are to be sentenced later Friday.
One defendant opted for a trial and was convicted and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
