A child molester with a violent criminal history is now on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list and a reward is being offered for information leading to his capture.
The Texas Department of Public Safety added Juan Alfredo Gandarilla to list because, it said, he violated his probation and failed to register as a sex offender after serving time for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old.
In 1995, 43-year-old Gandarilla molested the girl as she was sleeping in her Fort Worth bedroom and was arrested six months later in California. Once extradited to Texas he was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Contact and sentenced to 20 years.
Gandarilla was paroled in October 2004 and has been a fugitive since 2005, according to the DPS.
Gandarilla has relatives and friends living in Fort Worth, El Paso and California, and has been known to work as a cook, gardener and horse groomer, the DPS said.
It said his criminal history includes Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, Assault of a Public Servant, Burglary, Vandalism and Driving while Intoxicated.
He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 142 pounds. His tattoos include "Maria Ramon" on his chest, "Anthony 91" on his left arm and thespian faces on his upper left arm.
A $3,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to his capture.
