Norcross police are asking for help in capturing a gunman who committed three armed robberies in less than two hours.
Authorities say the suspect robbed all his victims at gunpoint in the area of Brook Hollow Parkway and Jimmy Carter Blvd area while the victims were walking.
The first robbery took place in the parking lot of an extended stay motel on Jimmy Carter Boulevard just before midnight last Wednesday.
Less than three miles away, the man robbed Teresa Chen and her parents as they cleaned her car in her driveway.
Chen says the gunman demanded money and then snatched a silver necklace from her neck. Her mother handed over a platinum necklace to him. Chen said that the man turned violent when her mother's bracelet wouldn't come off and her father intervened. The suspect then hit Chen's father in the mouth with his gun.
Chen said that the gunman fled on foot after getting the bracelet. Police say he then robbed someone at a nearby apartment complex and drove away in a silver sedan.
Norcross Police said they suspect the gunman has committed similar crimes in the past. They want to put him behind bars before anyone else gets hurt.
"Anytime that somebody is willing to come up and take things that other people have worked hard for and put their life in jeopardy there's always a danger," said Detective Craig Dallape with Norcross.
Police say the suspect was driving a silver sedan with partial Georgia tags with the numbers "9184." They are not sure what letters were on that plate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Norcross police at 770-448-2111.
