Business donates new bike to robbery victim

PHOENIX -

A valley man on his way home from work was attacked early Saturday morning. His only means of transportation, a bike, was stolen.

But things are looking up for him, thanks to a local business.

James Segall was sitting on a bench in the canal area at N 8th St and E Northern when he was approached by a male. The suspect ordered him to empty his pockets and pointed a gun at him.

Segall struggled with the suspect for the weapon, and the suspect hit him before taking off with his bike.

Segall rode the bike to work every night, and he didn't have any way of getting to work after the crime -- so the Bike Barn offered to provide him a new bike.

FOX 10's Anita Roman reports.
