EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas -
A Careflite emergency medical helicopter made an unexpected hard landing Sunday morning in Eastland County, about 90 miles west of Fort Worth.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crew of three was headed to the town of Eastland to pick up a patient, but the pilot tried to divert to the Eastland County Airport because of low visibility and bad weather.
The aircraft went down hard and fell on its side.
The pilot, former Sky 4 pilot Scott Wallace, and two medical experts on board were taken to area hospitals via ground ambulance.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the accident.
