Apartment fire causes traffic backup

Posted: Updated:

A raging fire during the afternoon rush hour caused traffic delays on the North Central Expressway Tuesday afternoon.

Cars slowed to look as firefighters battled the flames at the Advenir at Foxmore Apartments located near Royal Lane. The highway's southbound service road was also shut down for fire trucks and equipment.

Images from SKY 4 showed flames coming from a unit on the third floor. Smoke was also billowing out from the roof at both ends of the building.

A total of 48 units were affected.

There were no reports of injuries.

It is not yet clear what caused the fire or how many people were displaced because of it.
