ROCKPORT, Texas (AP) - A Texas family law judge suspended since his daughter released a video of him beating her with a belt several years ago when she was a teenager has waived his right to appeal a sanction from the state.
The State Commission on Judicial Conduct issued a public warning to Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams last month, but the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports (http://bit.ly/T0Q3eO ) that the commission's director says she was in the process Tuesday of filing a motion with the Texas Supreme Court to lift Adams' suspension.
Director Seana Willing says Adams could have faced a more severe sanction if he appealed. She says the court could act within a week or two.
Adams could not be reached for comment, but has been on paid suspension since November.
