A Tarrant County jury on Wednesday sentenced a White Settlement man to life in prison without parole for molesting a 3-month-old girl.
Jurors deliberated for about 45 minutes before delivering the punishment to 40-year-old Christopher Miller, according to the court. On Tuesday, it said, the jury took fewer than 30 minutes to find Miller guilty on four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under age 6.
Prosecutors said Miller had first confided in his church that he was addicted to pornography and that the church had been trying to help him control his impulses.
However, about a month later, they said, church officials called Child Protective Services when Miller told them he was molesting the infant. CPS then called police, who eventually arrested Miller.
During the punishment phase of his trial, evidence showed Miller also molested other children, including his son as an infant and a woman who testified that he fondled her at a church camp when she was 8.
