The Texas Rangers shared goodbyes and hugs as they packed up their things in the locker room after the season ending loss to Baltimore in Arlington.
Not only is a shot at making a third straight World Series gone, but it could be the last time fans see Josh Hamilton in a Rangers uniform, who will become a free agent and likely to command a high dollar, multi- year contract.
Fans booed Hamilton after he struck out in his last at bat.
Hamilton admitted he struggled during the last few weeks.
"I gave my all every time I went out there. You know hopefully they (fans) appreciated more than they didn't. It's one of those things I hate that we didn't get a win, but you can't win 'em all," said Hamilton.
The Rangers and Hamilton tabled negotiations earlier this season.
Hamilton said there is a "50-50" chance he returns.
General manager Jon Daniels said he'd like to have him back.
The question now is -- at what cost?
