Police released surveillance video Monday of a man they believe slashed and killed a youth soccer coach near Union Square.

Police said the vicious attack happened around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday at 14th Street near Fifth Avenue.

Police found Michael Jones, 25, with slash wounds to his neck and torso and his ear was cut off.

Jones, who coaches kids for the Red Bulls Youth Training Program, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have made no arrests.

Police and witnesses said Jones was arguing with the suspect just before he was attacked.  He had been out with his girlfriend earlier in the evening.

The New York Red Bulls released a statement on the murder: "We are aware of this tragedy and on behalf of the entire organization, want to send our most heartfelt condolences to Michael's family, friends and loved ones. He was a tremendous individual, a fantastic coach who loved soccer and a terrific friend for many of us. This is truly a sad day for our soccer community and we will do our utmost to help authorities in their investigation of this case. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael's family at this time."

Cops released surveillance video from nearby businesses in hopes of finding the suspect. The man had a ponytail and was wearing a dark jacket.
