Dallas police are investigating a woman's death as a homicide.

Shortly after 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a call at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of E. Overton Rd. in southern Dallas, near Robert Oren Park.

A witness called police after finding 64-year-old Erma Coleman shot dead inside her unlocked apartment.

It's not clear when the shooting took place. Police are interviewing witnesses and gathering information, but have no idea who the suspect might be.
