A man died late Tuesday night after he tried to run across a Fort Worth freeway. Today would have been the victim's 30th birthday.
Police say Aaron Goldsmith of Saginaw was driving west on SE Loop 820 with his father in the car.
The two were arguing, and pulled over to the side of the road near Mark IV Parkway.
According to witnesses, Goldsmith jumped out of the car and ran across the westbound lanes and down into the grassy median, then tried to cross the eastbound lanes.
An eastbound SUV struck him, killing Goldsmith in the road.
That driver stopped, as did a second driver who came upon the body in the road. Someone behind the second driver rear-ended that car, causing significant damage.
No one else was seriously hurt. Police do not expect to file charges.
