An SUV full of allegedly stolen audio equipment caught the attention of Irving police overnight, and the officers ended up in a chase.
About 2:30 a.m., an officer attempted to pull over a suspicious Jeep and its two occupants along Loop 12.
The Jeep's driver put the pedal to the metal and started a high-speed chase.
The suspects headed westbound on Highway 183, but the vehicle went out of control near MacArthur Boulevard.
The Jeep spun off the road and into a ditch on the service road, spinning sideways into a utility pole.
Both suspects jumped out and took off running, but one was caught later behind a nearby church. The second suspect remains at large.
Officers had to use the jaws of life -- heavy duty rescue equipment -- to get the suspicious audio and car stereo equipment out of the mangled SUV.
