Nelly is the latest celebrity to have a brush with the law at the border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, authorities detained the rapper and six others on Wednesday night after a search of his tour bus turned up significant quantities of marijuana and heroin, as well as a loaded handgun.
Passenger Brian Keith Jones told investigators he owned the drugs and the gun, and was arrested, TMZ reported.
Nelly and the remaining passengers were released.
Other stars who have been detained or arrested at the same checkpoint include Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and, most recently, Fiona Apple.
