Cleanup crews are trying to find out why a utility pole snapped in Uptown Dallas overnight, sending a transformer crashing into a parked car.
The transformer broke open about 2:15 a.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Boll Street, near the S&D Oyster Company restaurant on McKinney Avenue.
Oil and other fluids spilled out of the cracked transformer, creating a hazardous materials situation.
No one was hurt, and crews worked through the dawn to clean up the spilled materials.
It's still not clear why the top of the pole snapped off.
Electrical service to the neighborhood did not appear to be disrupted.
