A Fort Worth homeowner shot an intruder whom he found sleeping in his house.
The homeowner then held the squatter until police arrived.
Glenn Nugent said when he returned to his home Saturday, he saw a ladder leading to a broken window.
Nugent said he called his sister and asked her to bring him a gun.
Once he was armed, Nugent made his way into the home and found a complete stranger sleeping in a bedroom.
"When I went to the back, I saw that he had the covers pulled all over him, so I just shot over his head to scare him, but instead it just hit him in the backside," said Nugent.
Nugent said he meant to fire a warning shot, but struck the suspect, later identified as Geoffrey Allston.
"I wasn't going in there unarmed because I could have been dead myself," said Nugent.
Nugent said Allston then tried to run away, but he ordered him, at gunpoint, not to move until police arrived.
Police plan to charge the 26 year old Allston once he's released from the hospital.
Officers believe Allston had been camping out at Nugent's home for days.
A grand jury will also review the shooting.
