A North Texas man is charged in a weekend hit-and-run that left a woman dead.
The incident happened early Sunday morning on Interstate 30, near Beach Street, in Fort Worth.
According to investigators, Jeffrey Holland was traveling westbound in the right lane of I-30 when his 2008 Jeep Wrangler struck a woman walking on the shoulder. Holland failed to stop, police said.
Ladrieka Waggoner, 28, was found dead at the scene.
Both Fort Worth and Arlington police departments worked to locate the suspect vehicle at an Arlington residence.
Police arrested Holland and charged him with Accident Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death.
It is not clear why Waggoner was walking on the roadside or where she was going.
