A California home Halloween display featured on YouTube is disappointingly dark this year.
The homeowner, who choreographed an amazing laser light show to LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" in 2011, said he won't be putting up the lights this year due to a new homeowner's association rule.
A YouTube video of last year's show has been played nearly 11 million times.
"Unfortunately there are a few neighbors in the community that didn't like the display we created," wrote owner Kevin Judd on his business website, Creative Lighting Displays.
"Well, all good things come to an end. The HOA issued a new set of 'Holiday Display' rules on behest on the few that complained."
Judd admitted the thousands of people who flocked to his Riverside, Calif. neighborhood created traffic tie-ups. Some left trash in yards, trampled lawns and destroyed property, he said.
The nightly 7:30 p.m. show would start drawing visitors around 2 p.m., he said.
"We were in talks with the city to work out a plan to make the show run smoother and not be a burden on the neighbors like traffic control, porta-potties, trash collectors, police presence, etc.," he wrote. "Now none of it is needed."
Judd posted the message back in July, along with a note that says, "We will keep you posted if the plans change." So far, there has been no update.
