Assessment of EHCB chief scout Thomas Roost on Patrick Kane

General

Patrick Kane's career, I have been following his appearance at the Junior U18 Championships in Sweden 2006th Opinions were divided: Can it despite its shortcomings concerning size and weight will be a dominant NHL player? Initially divided opinions differed after the World Cup undivided enthusiasm ultimately in No.1-overall pick in the NHL Draft culminated. Patrick Kane after the Draft immediately wrapped in the NHL. He has great skills and can play both wing and center as what the coach gives additional options. Off the ice, he is not a child of sadness.

Strengths

Patrick Kane with the puck belongs among the best hockey players in the world. He has a rarely seen combination of playmaker and Goalscorer qualities. His offensive game is world class understanding. The same goes for his shots and stick handling skills. His control disc is a delight. It requires very little time and space for its sophisticated wrist shot. Risch runs he is also very good, its acceleration is reminiscent of Tyler Seguin and his lateral mobility is very impressive. What I personally like also extremely well his small deceptions which he prefixing his actions. He understands very well the enemy to hide his true intentions with the puck.

Weaknesses

Patrick Kane has trouble in "Infight" with big, strong defenders, his physical drawbacks led so far in his career a little (too) often cause injury. In the game without disc Kane has significant shortcomings. His defensive position, he does not always taken seriously enough. Kevin Schlaepfer is required in this regard. And off the ice, he still enjoys (not) always enjoyed the reputation of the pattern professionals.

Going into Game 1 the Blues were supposedly the fragile team but in the end they got what they deserved. At the 26 second mark of the third overtime Alexander Steen scored the game winner.
