Police arrested a Grand Prairie High School band director who they said had an improper relationship with a former student.
Eric Camarillo faces criminal charges for the alleged relationship that happened in September of last year when the 17-year-old victim was a student. However, it was not reported until recently.
School officials said Camarillo was relieved of his duties and kicked off district property.
"We are outraged and deeply saddened by this situation. The allegations, if true, are reprehensible," said Superintendent Dr. Susan Hull. "Again, if true, this would be a violation of the trust between student and teacher, and we urge law enforcement authorities to continue moving swiftly and to take the strongest possible action."
The investigation is ongoing.
