Hot Topic: Celebrating Halloween

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

There's a growing trend across the country to ban Halloween. According to a FOX News report, schools and communities across the nation are citing the economy, safety issues and cultural issues as reasons for banning Halloween.

One letter sent home with students for their parents in one Illinois school district said "there will be no costumes, no candy bags and no parties."

The report also says parents and students believe Halloween is a secular holiday, and one that allows children to express their creativity.

According to FOX News, over a dozen schools in the nation during the past year have tried to ban Halloween costumes, parties or parades but gave up after communities were angered.

So we want to know, how do you celebrate Halloween in your home? Post your responses on our FOX 5 AtlantaFacebook page, tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta, or email us at goodday@myfoxatlanta.com! We'll read some of your responses during the 9 am hour of Good Day Atlanta.
