DENTON, Texas -

Denton police are looking to the public to help them catch an armed robber.

Surveillance video shows the suspect pointing a handgun to an employee's head at The Gold Exchange on Lillian Miller Parkway.

The robbery happened Thursday at 9:35 a.m.

The video shows the suspect entering the store, then taking some items from his pocket to show the employee.

When the worker looks closely at a necklace, the man pulls a black handgun from his waistband and points it at the worker's head.

Denton police say the man fled the store with an "undisclosed amount of cash."

However, he left a necklace behind. The gold necklace has a topaz-colored stone mounted on a heart-shaped design.

The suspect is described as being 6 feet tall, in his mid-20s, and having a very thin build. He was wearing his hair short and baggy jeans, oversized blue jacket and white tennis shoes.

If you know who this person is, please call Denton police at (940)349-7974.
