A yearly tribute to America's veterans is in jeopardy this weekend, because someone stole a custom-designed smoker/grill.
According to the Knights of Columbus of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, the smoker was stolen from the church on Danieldale Road either late Friday or early Saturday.
The 20-foot trailer-drawn smoker was designed and built by the Knights so volunteers can cook and serve dozens of people at civic events, church functions, and parades.
The trailer even had folding chairs, tables and more.
This Saturday, the K of C are planning to serve a barbecue dinner at the Veterans' Hospital in Dallas. A generous donor is lending the group a replacement smoker, but the Knights would still like theirs back.
If you know anything about the smoker, please call Duncanville police.
