Two people were injured on Wednesday escaping a moving freight train in Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Fire Department said.
According to the department, a man and woman were walking on the tracks near E. Lancaster Avenue and Riverside Drive just before 4 p.m. when they scrambled to avoid an oncoming train.
The pair apparently fell down a steep embankment while trying to reach safety, according to the department.
The man was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman was slightly hurt and refused treatment.
Train personnel saw the pair on the tracks and called 911, fearing the train had hit the two, fire officials said.
