Showers and a few thunderstorms will get the morning started across north Texas with a good chance of rain across much of the area.
A line of storms will extend from Gainesville south to Mineral Wells and begin to fill in as the cold front moves east throughout the morning.
The Metroplex should begin to see rain around 11 a.m. and continue through 2 p.m. when chances for rain will begin to diminish.
The best chance for severe weather will be for areas north of Palestine and east of Sulphur springs as the line pushes through that area early this afternoon.
Behind the cold front, temperatures will be much cooler. Temperatures will reach 74° by noon and then begin to decrease into the upper 50s by the evening hours.
The start of the workweek brings much cooler weather than we've been seeing lately with highs only in the upper 50s and low 60s with dry and sunny conditions persisting until the next system passes our way next weekend.
