Investigators are trying to determine who is at fault in a crash involving a school bus and two cars that sent six people to the hospital on Monday.
The crash happened on Highway 212 in front of Oak Hill Elementary School in Covington as the driver of one of the cars involved was dropping off a child at the school.
Sheen Marable told FOX 5 she was dropping off her son at Oak Hill Elementary when she saw the crash unfold in front of her. She says the chain reaction started when a car pulled out in front of a school bus, with the force of the crash propelling the car's driver through a window. The bus then hit an oncoming car outside the school.
School officials said that the bus was en route to Alcovy High School. Three students on board, the initial driver, a parent and child in the third vehicle and the bus driver all went to hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Authorities are investigating the crash. The driver of the initial vehicle, 22-year-old Danielle Ball, has been charged with failure to yield. She was still at Atlanta Medical Center being treated for injuries as of Monday afternoon.
School officials tell FOX 5 the area is a busy one, and they plan to bring police out to help direct traffic there for the rest of the week following the accident.
