NEW YORK (AP) - The CEO of Dallas' professional soccer team is facing charges that he beat and choked his wife in a New York City hotel.
Police said Douglas Quinn of FC Dallas assaulted his wife, Elizabeth Quinn, after an argument in their Manhattan hotel room on Saturday.
The criminal complaint said Quinn punched his wife in the face repeatedly. It also said he put a pillow over her head and applied pressure so that she could not breathe.
Quinn was released on $20,000 bail following his arraignment in Manhattan criminal court. He is due back in court Thursday.
His lawyer, Alan Futerfas, said that "there is often another side to the story and there certainly is one here." The lawyer said he looked forward to meeting with the district attorney's office.
