COBB COUNTY, Ga. -
Waffle House CEO Joe Rogers Jr. is embroiled in a sex scandal with his former personal assistant.
The Acworth woman says Rogers forced her to have sex with him for eight years or risk losing her job. Rogers says the sex was consensual.
Rogers appeared in Cobb County Superior Court on Wednesday with his wife Fran.
"She stood by me through this whole thing. It was difficult at the very beginning, obviously. But I told her the whole truth because she has told me the worst thing you can do is compound your problems," Rogers said.
Wednesday's hearing was on what to do with the sex tapes My Brooke Brindle made of Rogers without his consent.
Senior Judge Grant Brantley ordered that attorneys from both sides turn over all recordings to the court.
"We're pleased with the court's ruling to impound those tapes and they're now, presently, being held by the court. We're comfortable with that ruling," said Robert Ingram, Rogers' attorney.
Outside the courtroom, Rogers talked about healing his family.
"Fran and I are trying to make sure that both families come together and we're concerned about the children, of course, because we like to be good role models for our children. And I certainly let a lot of people down," Rogers said.
Rogers is accusing his accuser of trying to get millions of dollars out of him. In a statement released on Tuesday, he said "I am a victim of my own stupidity, but I am not going to be a victim of a crime - extortion."
