Missing Texas A&M student found safe, police say

Posted: Updated:

An 18-year-old Texas A&M University student who disappeared from campus earlier this week has been found safe.

University police did not say where Thomas Linze Johnson, formerly of Skyline High School in Dallas, had been since he was last seen on Monday.

Police said a 911 call placed just before 3 a.m. from the Skyline High area alerted investigators that Johnson was in southeast Dallas. However, police would not say who placed the call or what was said.

According to Texas A&M police, no criminal activity was involved in the case.

Johnson left his campus dorm about 5 p.m. on Monday. He was reported missing after failing to show up for football practice at least twice.

Johnson, a freshman receiver, caught 30 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown on the season.
