CONYERS, Ga. -

Police in Conyers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man injured on Friday.

According to Conyers police, officers responded to a call near Sigman Road and Rockbridge Road. Police say  they found a 21-year-old Pernell Presley standing over his mother, Trisa Stallworth, with a knife in his hand.

Investigators say Presley charged the officer with the knife and the officer opened fire.

Both the mother and son were life-flighted to hospitals.
