Police are investigating skeletal remains found off a highway in north Georgia.
Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd told the Rome News-Tribune that a person walking near Highway 113 on Friday found a bone about 200 yards off the road.
The coroner has collected the remains and sent them to the state crime lab in Atlanta. Dodd said forensic experts there will try to determine the cause of death.
Local investigators are searching through missing person reports to see if there are any connections.
