DALLAS -
The Thomas Building in downtown Dallas was demolished in seconds on Sunday as onlookers marveled at the spectacle.
The 88-year-old landmark, once the center of the city's cotton trade, was imploded to make way for future development.
Officials said crews used 240 pounds of dynamite to level the Thomas Building.
Delighted spectators said the implosion was a sight to be seen.
"It was louder than I thought. It was amazing," Jane Travis said.
It is not clear what will replace the Thomas Building.
