ARLINGTON, Texas -

Arlington police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving an 18-year-old girl and her ex-boyfriend.

Sgt. Chris Cook of Arlington PD says the girl's family became concerned when she didn't arrive to pick up her young daughter.

Around 11 p.m., officers went to the Indian Creek Apartments in the 2700 block of Medicine Pass, near Highway 380 and E. Park Row Drive, to check on the teen's welfare.

When the police arrived, they saw blood and other signs of a struggle outside her apartment door.

The officers kicked in the door and found the two lifeless bodies.

"We believe the relationship between the young man and the young woman is that he's an estranged boyfriend, also the father of the child," said Cook.

The victims' names have not been released.

Police are examining more clues in the apartment and the victims' cars and will be at the scene for several more hours.
