State owned liquor stores in Virginia don't want to miss out on Black Friday shoppers so they are extending hours and offering door-buster sales.
Some stores will open as early as 7 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving and offer early morning price specials.
Liquor stores in the state are controlled by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
"This is a unique opportunity for our retail customers to purchase quality items at reduced prices," ABC Chairman J. Neal Insley said in a statement. "For individuals interested in trading up to more premium brands for themselves or as gifts, the discount will help offset the higher cost."
ABC stores will open early at 9 a.m.
Discounts of 25 to 50% on selected items
Additional 10% discount off purchases totaling $50
Most of Virginia ABC's 338 retail stores will open at 9 a.m. Five stores in Williamsburg, Richmond and Northern Virginia will open at 7 a.m.
All stores will offer a 25 to 50 percent reduction on some items as well as ten percent off any purchase totaling at least $50.
Early morning specials will remain in effect Nov. 23 at all stores until 3 p.m.
"ABC encourages Virginians to drink responsibly. As the holiday season approaches, we should be especially mindful of this," Insley added.
