NEW YORK (AP) - Officials say a fire in a massive, storm-damaged office skyscraper in Manhattan's Financial District has sent four people to a hospital with smoke inhalation. Nearly two dozen others also have been treated but didn't need hospitalization.
The Fire Department says it's not yet clear what caused the fire Friday morning in the basement of 55 Water St. The 54-story tower's tenants include the offices of Standard & Poor's, EmblemHealth and the city Department of Transportation.
The building's website says it remains without power after Superstorm Sandy. Utilities have largely restored electricity around the city, but some buildings' own equipment was so damaged they're still without power.
The telephone rang busy at the building's management office.
The building's owner is the Retirement Systems of Alabama. Its Montgomery office was closed Friday.
