VALHALLA, N.Y. (AP) -- The Archdiocese of New York has named seven Catholic elementary schools in Westchester and Rockland counties at risk of closing at the end of the school year.

The schools in Westchester are Holy Name of Jesus School in Valhalla, Our Lady of Fatima School in Scarsdale, St. Casimir School in Yonkers, Our Lady of the Assumption School in Peekskill and St. Theresa School in Briarcliff Manor.

In Rockland, they are St. Augustine School in New City and St. Peter School in Haverstraw.

A final decision will likely be made in January.

The Archdiocese currently runs 159 elementary schools.
