
Zig Ziglar, from his Facebook pageFamed motivational speaker and Dallas-area resident Zig Ziglar died after a brief illness, according to his web site.
Ziglar, who lived in Plano, turned 86 earlier this month.
A message on his Facebook page asked fans to leave messages for the family.
Zig Ziglar passed from this world today after a short bout with pneumonia. Though his time on earth has ended, he is speaking with Jesus now in his heavenly home. The angels in heaven are rejoicing and his family is celebrating a life well lived.
Ziglar left his sales career to write motivational books and give seminars, which grew into world-wide series.
Ziglar suffered memory loss after a fall in 2009.
It's not clear if he was scheduled to appear at the next conference for sales leaders, scheduled for Dec. 5 in Dallas.
