HOUSTON -
Former President George H.W. Bush is in a Houston hospital being treated for a persistant cough and bronchitis, reports say.
Bush, 88, was admitted to Methodist Hospital the day after Thanksgiving, according to the Houston Chronicle.
His chief of staff told the paper that Bush had been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks as his doctors try to relieve a chronic cough.
The chief of staff said his son, former President George W. Bush, visited his father over the weekend.
The elder Bush does not have pneumonia, doctors say. He should be released by this weekend, the staffer said.
