Anger and frustration at Staten Island meeting

Posted: Updated:

A meeting on Staten Island started out calm but soon became a shouting match when frustrated Hurricane Sandy victims asking one main question: where do we go from here?

Several hundred people packed the town hall meeting organized by Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, who tried to keep order.

The meeting was supposed to involve questions written down on cards and picked from a box at random and answered.

But that format changed when residents shouted from the floor in frustration that their questions were not being answered.

FEMA officials, New York City Buildings Department officials, and local leaders tried to answer those questions.

But the message was clear: residents are frustrated and say they're not receiving help fast enough.

FEMA officials directed people to counselors on hand to help take residents' information. But, again, many say they continue to need help.
