Dallas police have one capital murder suspect behind bars and are asking for help finding as many as three others.
Teresa Ontiveros was working inside the Novelty Mart store in Balch Springs on Nov. 6 when four masked men stormed in with guns and robbed her and her coworkers.
"It was terrifying. It was," she said.
Moments before the gunmen stormed in, Balch Springs police said 18-year-old Shaquandalond Hawkins was working with the robbers by scouting the store to see who was inside.
Afterward on the same evening, Dallas police said the same gang robbed another Novelty Mart store in far east Dallas. Owner Mohammad Haider, a husband and father of four, was shot and later died.
"He was always there working. He was a real hard-working man," Ontiveros said. "I think it was a customer because, I mean, they knew we had this store and they knew we had the other store and I think that's why they came here and then after this they went to the other store."
Balch Springs police were able to identify and arrest Hawkins. She's now charged with capital murder.
Dallas police said she confessed to robbing both stores and implicated 19-year-old Deray Reeves.
Court records show Reeves was arrested the day after the robberies with a gun in his possession. But he bonded out of jail before a ballistics test linked his gun to Haider's murder.
Once arrested again, Reeves will be charged with capital murder.
Investigators are still trying to identify the other men who participated in the robbery and murder.
