Woman killed trying to prevent suicide, officials say - Dallas News | myFOXdfw.com

A woman was fatally shot on Monday night in Kemp, southeast of Dallas, while trying to wrestle a gun from a suicidal man, who then killed himself, authorities said.

According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, the pair was tousling over the firearm at a residence in the 18400 block of FM 2613 when the shootings happened.

They said the gun fired, striking the woman as she tried to pry it from the man's hands.

The man then shot and killed himself, they said.

Officials did not release the names of the deceased.
