Woman shot during Dallas home invasion

Posted: Updated:

A Dallas woman was seriously wounded overnight in a home invasion, police said.

The incident happened at about midnight in the 600 block of Moss Ross Court, in the Pleasant Grove area of the city.

According to investigators, the victim was sitting at a table with her husband and two adult male relatives when at least two masked men kicked in the front door of the home.

At some point, the woman was shot in the shoulder and was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.

They said the suspects fled following the shooting, hitting a parked sport utility vehicle with their getaway car.

Crime scene technician gathered pieces of a shattered taillight lens to see if any fragments came from the suspects' vehicle, police said.

Police also said they would review surveillance video taken by security cameras at the home.

It was not immediately clear if the assailants stole any property from the residence.
