DALLAS -
The judge declared a mistrial in the fraud case against a former Dallas County constable.
Jaime Cortes faced charges for falsifying campaign finance forms in 2007. He was accused of holding an illegal raffle in support of his campaign.
The jury was deadlocked 11-1, but did not indicate which way they were leaning.
Cortes stepped down in 2010 and was facing the maximum of two years in jail.
Prosecutors said they will retry him.
