K-9 officer Twan and his handler, Sgt. Robert Frank, are stepping away from fighting crime for some rest and relaxation.
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
Two of DeKalb County's finest have officially retired after years on the force together. K-9 officer Twan and his handler, Sgt. Robert Frank, are stepping away from fighting crime for some rest and relaxation.
Frank says Twan has worked tirelessly for the department and is no worse for wear, even after taking a gunshot to the snout in 2008 while tracking down armed robbers.
Twan saved officers' lives countless times in seven years on the force, Frank said. The K-9 also helped in more than 500 arrests and seized more than $1.3 million in drugs and money. He'll retire at Frank's home with his family and other dog.
