Officers shot a man in a Pleasant Grove neighborhood because he allegedly refused to put down a gun.
Neighbors said the man was walking around with a rifle in his hands on Castlefield Drive around 3:45 p.m. Thursday. He was possibly talking on a Bluetooth headset, shouting and causing a disturbance.
Police sources said officers responded to the disturbance calls in the neighborhood. They confronted the man and ordered him to put down his weapon.
Two officers fired multiple shots at the suspect because he allegedly pointed his gun at them.
He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The officers were not hurt.
